Insurance Philippines

Insurance Philippines is the only insurance magazine dedicated to the growth of the Philippine insurance industry. Now on its 24th year, Insurance Philippines came out with its first issue in newspaper format on January 14, 1985, as a response to a need for a medium to disseminate valuable information to the insurance sector and the public, and to create greater insurance consciousness among the people.

In 1988, it adopted the magazine format, still covering both the life and non-life sectors. However, since there were over a hundred non-life insurers that time, it was natural that the preponderance of articles and news touched more on that sector. So in January 1990, cognizant of the fact that the agents selling life insurance far outnumbered those in the non-life sector, Insurance Philippines came out with a separate edition that would cater exclusively to life and health insurance.

Through the years, Insurance Philippines has distinguished itself as a chronicler of insurance events and developments in the country, and a forum where important issues and views are discussed.

Life Underwriters Association of the Philippines

The Life Underwriters Association of the Philippines was established in February. 1984 when 10 life insurance agents took the initiative to organize an association of colleagues and peers aimed at the training, education, and professional development of fellow life underwriters. To this end, it regularly holds events and sales clinics throughout the year in Metro Manila and other parts of the country, in cooperation with its provincial chapters. With its own office on the 20th floor of Cityland 10, Tower II in Makati City, the LUAP also offers a member-exclusive library of books and learning tapes, many of them sourced directly from MDRT.

Now on its 25th year of service to the insurance industry, LUAP is run by an 11-man Board of Trustees and was the first professional association recognized by MDRT to certify for membership qualification to the Million Dollar Round Table.
